More fun, no more Emergenza

Thanks to all you great people for the support Saturday 12th. It was great fun to perform and we shall jump at the chance of doing it again!
Unfortunately we did not get chosen to advance in the Emergenza game, so we're now focusing on festivals and creating new songs! Gotta start work on that second album soon!!

Bellow's hitting the national Emergenza final May 12th!

Bellow did it. We were one of two bands who got a vote exceeding 200 at the semi-finals and now we're playing the national final at Rockefeller (Oslo) in May!

We're hoping all our friends, fans and family will attend and support us this evening! It's a big one and we're setting our goals to reach the Nordic finals - so help us make this come true!

See you all soon, very soon!

The proof is in the pudding

Here are the results from last round. We won! And we plan to do the same when we play Emergenza again April 20th at John Dee!

See y'all there!

First review of "Drowning, Not Waving"

Finally, someone's taken the time to review our debut album - not a great review, but you can read it here.
On the upside, I don't think many people use the page as the news are older than everything in my own refrigerator! ;-)

Bellow won the first round of the Emergenza festival

Bellow have earned their place in the semi-finals at John Dee. The Emergenza crowd recognised talent when they saw it, and we won the evening in style.
There will be even more style at the next gig, and we need shitloads of people to come vote us to the finals! C'mon peeps, this is a major chance for us, don't be too lazy to have a great time!!!

Next gig will be April 20th!! Hope to see you all there!!!

New gigs getting booked - we need your support

Bellow has lined up a new gig - Friday 16th March - so come see us. More info on our gigs page. This is part of the Emergenza festival, so we need people to come vote us through to the next rounds. If you do, we'll get a gig in April and May as well. C'mon folks! Help support your favourite band!

More gigs are also beeing booked, so you might see us at a festival this summer. Keep checking back for updated info.

Progress update

New songs are taking shape, and we're pleased to announce that they sound stellar. Some track names for the curious:
Ride The Monkey
12 Step Boogie
Piggie
Stain
Hobo
Antichrist

Now we'll just have to see which songs survive and which ones get scrapped.

We're also working on booking some shows. You just might catch us on the festival curcuit this year - hope we see you there. Dates will be added to "gigs" tab as soon as we've got things confirmed.

Still going

Bit of a rocky start to the new year, but as the world keeps putting out great music (2012 looks to be amazing in that regard), then so should we.
New songs are finally taking shape, got two in the can and several in the grind. Just need to shape 'em into something beautiful.

Don't forget to support your favourite band - buy our CDs! You can do that here

New guitarist

Yet again we're a five-piece band. Another guitarist has been recruited to fill in and make Bellow more complex and evolved. Tom Fury's days as a guitar playing vocalist are over and he has now been ordered to concentrate on vocal and stage performances!

Still no name for our new guy, he's as of now, anonymous. Anyone got a cool stagename to give him, let us know:

What should the name be?

"WOW. The first part sondus a bit like Gravity Eyelids (it has the same Mellotron sondus), but then it evolves into something like nothing else Steven Wilson has done. I can't wait!"

This baby's going to print in a short while!

Completed

Yesterday we received the final mastered songs for our debut album "Drowning, Not Waving".
To the left you can see the front cover for our album and soon you will find songs from the album on different sites (yes, one song here, another somewhere else... etc.)!

All that is left is getting a group photo, finishing the cover art work, pressing and printing and then we're ready to set sail and ship out! Album launch is near... very near!

Stay tuned fo' mo'!!!

Yes, master

"Drowning, Not Waving" has just been sent to be mastered!
Our debut is drawing to a close!!!

Bellow on the news, prime time

Thanks to my better half, we ended up on the news the other day.
If you look closely you will find an old Bellow poster on the wall in the background (made easier to spot by the help of a red circle and arrow pointing out where)!

All in all, it's just another brick in the wall for gaining publicity and word of mouth before album launch!!

Stay tuned peeps!

Finished recording

We've finally done it, finished recording... and if we might say it ourselves - it sounds superb.
After listening to raw mixes we discovered certain things that needed cleaning up and we did a fine job at nipping at the corners and polishing this beast of an album that's gonna run for close to 50 minutes.
How's that for Bellow-listening pleasure?

Now we just need BIFF to finish the mastering, need to contact Gramo & Tono for licensing and such... and then we're good to go - press the shite and place it in the hands of you!!!

Be excited! Things are rolling again!!!

The final countdown...

Wednesday 4th of May will be the final day we head into the studio to do the final, final bits. I know it's been said before, but this time it's true.
Lets just hope we can finish everything else a bit faster than we've done recording :)

Again, I will leave you with the comment: stay tuned!

Closer and closer

Listening to the mix now. Not too bad at all, not too bad. So stay tuned and stay excited, it will arrive one day peeps, one day!

Getting close to release...

Awaiting raw mixes of all our songs for "Drowning, Not Waving". Then we'll spend some time listening to the tracks, figuring out if somethings missing or completely shite, and if all 15 songs actually cut it.
After this we'll green light it and send it to mastering, whilst figuring out track list and finishing the cover. From there on in, it's cut, paste and print basically!

Finishing "Drowning, Not Waving"

We're not just talking bollocks now, it's finally happening. The first week end in March will be the final studio visit for recording. Small bits remain, and then the last stages of mixing.
We are nearing a real product now. Music's approx 90% done, cover is taking shape. Don't be surprised if we offer our debut album on these pages in a couple of months time!

Stay tuned fans, more updates will follow as we do exciting stuff. Thanks for paying attention!!

2010 recording, 2011 release...

We ain't just laying about eating our christmas pudding. On wednesday 29th, we'll head down to the studio to record the final bits for the album. All recording will be done in 2010.
2011 will be mixing the tracks, getting them mastered and then ushered to different indie labels and hopefully you'll see it in the shops near you!!! Ah wouldn't it be nice!? Stay tuned for release gig etc. etc. etc.

Xmas update

Sorry folks, been a while since the last update. Well, the yuletide season has come upon us. And as with all of you, we're busy with families and shopping and more and on and on and on....
On the brighter side, we recently received a raw mix of Red Light District, and it did sound superb! The album's gonna be a killer with all your favourite hits (no, not big hits from your childhood, but the hits we've written, stoopid). Maybe we'll post it on our Music page, who knows what the festive season might bring! Send a wish to Santa while you're at it.
More will happen in the new year, a big year for us in Bellow. Debut album will finally see the light of day! Plus, make sure you join us for some after xmas fun on the 14th at Gamla, Oslo.

Merry Christmas fans!!

Stu-stu-stu-studio time... (Nov. 18th)

It's that time again, studio time. Yes indeed, we are heading into the recording booth for the second time this month. Gonna get the last bass bits down, some more guitar and vocals, and perhaps some mixing.
Unfortunately for the fans, you're gonna have to wait just a little bit longer. There must be a final studio session in the new year as well. Hang in there though, the wait will definitely be worth it. There are some classics being cut and you do not wanna miss out on a record like this.

Day 3 - Hangover Day

There had been some partying in the studio, some leaving to Orange Goblin gig in Oslo, some dinner party and some relaxing and thus, Saturday was the big Hangover Day!
Still we managed to record some vocal tracks. Laid down 4 tracks, completing "Fat Girl". Not a bad feat. Next time we hit the studio (Nov. 18th) we will lay down even more vocals, more rhythm guitar and some solos. Things are moving along, and hopefully we'll see a brand spanking new record out in the first half of 2011.

Day 2 - StudioLine, L'oreal

Yesterday we put down quite a few drum tracks and some bass. Things are moving along nicely, thanks for asking!
Gonne keep on rocking in the free world today and lay down some guitars and maybe even some vocals. Creativity is oozing!

Go to check out some pictures from yesterdays session on our images page and leave some comments why don'tcha?

Today is the day (Oct. 28th)

Today we continue where we left off the last time. It's the first day of recording again!
New album will be a blast, featuring "hits" like: High Maintenance, Womanizer, S.T.D, Beast In Me and Show Me Your Titties. Stay tuned for updates on recording progress and maybe some pics and vids!

Stud-io booty

In less than a week, Bellow will be in the studio recording songs for the forthcoming debut: "Drowning, Not Waving". Oh what fun it will be!
Rejoice and tell your friends!

New gig added

As promised, new gigs keep being posted (and played). Bellow is not crippled, wounded or hurt from the loss of manpower.
This beast still roars its ugly head.

They say history repeats itself

And thus it happens again, history repeats itself. We've lost our guitarist at the brink of hitting the studio. We're not joking. Joe King was not joking either, when he said he was leaving Bellow.
Still, we soldier on and we're sticking to our guns and plans. All gigs remain and the studio will be visited by the awesome foursome that is Bellow!

New gig and studio time booked

Things are finally starting to roll. Bellow have announced a new gig (see gigs link) and we have booked a couple of week ends in the studio this autumn. New songs will be recorded and work will finally start on our album, yet again.

Website Relaunch

Yes indeed, we have given www.bellow.no a facelift. This will make it easier for us to update, thus making it a far more living page. So keep watch and we'll try to update you on the events in the life of Bellow.

New to the site is a comments page, we hope you'll give us insightful feedback or suggestions to making the band better (if that's at all possible) - we'd like to hear from you all, fans or no fans, write those words and we'll read 'em.

Oh, and don't be afraid to share with your friends on Facebook (use the link provided on each page).
